The ACE series is the Academic, Career and Employability programme made up of several interconnecting workshops aimed at helping students increase their employability prospects and to develop strategies and skills needed to succeed in the current job market.

The programme includes 10 modules which are taught during 5 workshops lasting approximately 3 hours. Each module tackles a specific topic relating to employability skills, the job application process and professional skills.

What skills are going to make you stand out from the crowd?

In Workshop1, you will develop a strong understanding of employability in today’s job market and the steps you should be taking to become top-quality employment material. You’ll explore the skills needed for your career and create your own personal skills profile to navigate how you’ll develop employability skills in the future.

Want to know what employers are tired of seeing in applications, CV’s and Cover Letters and how you can avoid those same mistakes?

No problem! In Workshops 2 and 3 participants will build their CV from the ground up with a 1-2-1 session while learning how to tailor their CV’s to specific jobs. In this workshop, participants will learn what they should and shouldn’t include in their CV’s and Covering Letters and what captivating language that can be used to grab a potential employer’s attention. We will also take you through the step-by-step process that is guaranteed to help you write an eloquent and eye-catching application form to help you secure an interview.

Needing advice on what to expect during your next job interview?

During Workshop 4 we will equip you with the ACE Interview Essentials. And to be sure that you are fully prepared for your next interview, our team will take you through mock interview sessions and provide you with detailed feedback.

Ever wondered how you can use social media to optimise your job search?

In Workshop 5, you will learn the secrets to using social media and other online platforms to find the job you really want. With the skills you will have learned in the previous workshops, in addition to the expert job hunting skills you will develop, you’ll be fully ready to enter the workforce.

We want to ensure that you are fully informed about what to expect in the workplace and what is needed to be an effective member of a team. In Workshop 5, you will also receive an introduction on workplace conduct and how to develop the most sought after and transferable skills needed in a working environment.
